The HEINE Tradition

Whether band resistors, compact resistors, brake resistors, frame resistors, steel grid resistors, neutral grounding resistors or load banks - HEINE Resistors has been the epitome of top quality power resistors Made in Germany for over a century.

It all started in 1904, when master mechanic Oscar Heine founded a company to manufacture arc smoothing resistors. However, shortly afterwards, the company had already become far more than the main supplier for the Dresden-based cinema equipment industry (the world leaders at the time) - it had become the most significant German manufacturer of special resistors.

In the post-war years, this tradition was continued, bringing about a further milestone in HEINE's history.

Oscar HEINE KG was finally nationalised in 1972 as one of the most important special resistor manufacturers in Eastern Europe. Reprivatisation and entry in the trade register as HEINE Spezialwiderstände GmbH occurred in 1990, such an important year for Europe.

As part of the internationalisation process, the medium-sized company was renamed HEINE Resistors GmbH in 2003. But that was not enough. In order to meet international demand better, our wholly-owned subsidiary, Microelettrica HEINE (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. China has represented us in Asia since the end of 2005.

In January 2012 Microelettrica Scientifica S.p.A. (a member of the German Knorr Bremse Group) has completed the 100% acquisition of the company HEINE Resistors GmbH and completes its range of resistor products.

We have also established ourselves as one of the leading providers of power resistors through our headquarters in Dresden, Saxony's state capital, which has excellent infrastructure connections. We provide top quality products at short notice - worldwide!
